THE MEIJI STANDARD OF OUR ALMOND

Our almonds are selected to standards stricter than the U.S.D.A. Only the finest almonds are sorted by human eyes and hands in several stages. The almonds are roasted at once over a strong direct flame, making them aromatic.

Because we source only the finest nuts, they deserve only a mark fitting of their quality.

ONLY THE FINEST CHOCOLATE

After years of verification, we use milk chocolate that has been specially formulated to match the fragrant almonds. The almonds are slowly rotated in the kettle to make them glossy.

Layers and layers of chocolate are coated with a unique technology to create a jewel-like shiny almond chocolate.

HISTORY OF PACKAGE

1962

The Original Almond Chocolate

It was created during the period of raipd econmic growth as an authentic nut chocolate with adults in mind. It used whole almonds, which were popular in Europe at the time.
1980

Generation 2 Almond Chocolate

The red and white theme colors, the cornerstone of the current design, were introduced in this year. The logo was stamped in high-grade gold foil, a rarity today.
2006

Generation 3 Almond Chocolate

The trademark "red square” was succeeded by the current Meiji Almond Chocolate design. The old Meiji mark is a bit nostalgic.
2009 - Present

Generation 4 Almond Chocolate

Meiji Seika and Meiji Dairies have merged and adopted a new logo. We will continue to deliver delicious taste and smiles to our customers to be your “everyday confectionery”.
