Relationship between yogurt and beautiful skin(2)

Ask the expert! What’s the relationship between yogurt and smooth skin?

We asked the following questions to Ms. Kaoru Suganuma (Department Manager, Living Science Department and Planning Development Department, FCG Research Institute, Inc.) who participated in the experiment.

Why are yogurt and other dairy products good for the skin?

To answer the question let me begin by pointing out that milk is an essential food that nourishes each one of us when we are a baby. Milk is an excellent food and a source of a well-balanced mix of key nutrients.
Milk contains quality protein that is necessary for synthesizing healthy skin, vitamin A and B2, without which skin metabolism cannot occur, and lactic acid bacteria that improve the intestinal environment. Milk is also a food that our body can easily digest and absorb. Another benefit is its water content, as our body must retain enough water inside in order to keep us alive. All these are innate functions of the human body. And milk products help our body regain its normal baseline condition.

A basic question: how are water content and beautiful skin related?

If your skin is healthy, it has a shine and tension. Such healthy skin condition is a function of the skin’s water retention mechanism, through which the sebum secreted from the skin serves as a naturally produced skin cream. If your skin is well-balanced and healthy, your facial color appears bright and translucent, which in turn makes any dull or dark spots on your face less noticeable. In addition, I recommend applying UV protection and careful and thorough face washing, to look after skin that is constantly subjected to various external stimuli.

I would like to include yogurt in my daily diet. What would be your recommended approach?

Even if you are the type of person who must eat out often or live off convenience store foods most of the time, you can simply add a pack of yogurt to your lunch. You can also eat yogurt as a snack between meals, by mixing in oligosaccharides or vitamin-rich fruits into plain yogurt. If you want to avoid consuming additional carbs, you can include yogurt in your cooking repertoire.
